The Raising Caneฎ is the world's first and only self-righting walking cane. It is absolutely the most convenient, lightweight walking cane in the world. Using its unique, patented, balanced design, the cane will always return to its normal, upright standing position if it is dropped or knocked over. No other cane can accomplish this task.
The Raising Caneฎ is available in four (4) fixed lengths of 30, 32, 34, and 36 inches. The cane is available in fixed lengths and thus you must determine the proper length for yourself. We will produce custom lengths up to 37.5 inches for an additional fee of $40.00 per cane. Please allow two weeks for us to produce the custom lengths.
The cane is available in fixed lengths and thus you must determine the proper length for yourself. A rough guide is as follows:
Stand on a level surface in shoes that you plan to wear while using a cane.
With your arms by your side measure the distance from the floor to your wrist with a yard stick or tape measure.
Select and order the cane from the available sizes of 30", 32", 34", or 36" that is closest to this measurement. If the measurement falls exactly between two of these lengths choose the larger length.
Example 1: If the measurement is 31 ฝ inches, then choose the 32 inch length.
Example 2: If the measurement is 31 inches, then choose the 32 inch length.
The cane shaft fits between the fore and middle fingers of ones hand. Grasping the handle in this manner improves the stability of the cane for the user while centering the handle in the palm of the user.
There are two handle designs to choose from.
The first utilizes a black foam grip that is ergonomically designed, is made from a bio-compatible polymeric foam and is user replaceable. It is designed to absorb shock and provide comfort to the user. It is about 3 inches long and 1 3/8 inches in diameter.
Our newest handle design features a larger handle that utilizes a carbon fiber tube about 4 inches in length and 1 1/8 inches in diameter. This design is preferred by individuals with larger hands.

The shaft of the cane is a beautiful, rosewood-colored, graphite-epoxy material designed to be extremely light weight but, at the same time, to be strong and stiff. The material used in this shaft is similar to that used in high performance sporting equipment and aircraft.
The black, coated steel basket assembly is both rugged and lightweight. - It is uniquely designed to clear the foot of the user, as well as provide a rolling surface for the cane if it is dropped or knocked over.
The rubber base piece acts to protect both the floor and the metal counterweight from one another while cushioning the impact on the floor. It is made from a black, non-marring rubber material, is approximately five times the contact area as ordinary canes, and is replaceable.
The Raising Cane is a deep rosewood color with a black base and spokes.
Weights up to 225 pounds can be supported.
